The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is seeking a Research Administrator to join our friendly, supportive, and dynamic team and provide pre-award grants administration support to faculty, researchers, and trainee investigators in the Department. Research administration is a complex profession. The Research Administrator plays a crucial role in the lifecycle of research funding, primarily focusing on activities leading up to the award of a grant or contract. This role will engage in policy interpretation and pre-award support of extramural awards and agreements. The Research Administrator works directly with the post-award accountants, working in collaboration to manage contracts, research funding FTE, and award modifications. This position is essential to our department's research enterprise, ensuring proposals are accurate, compliant, and competitive. The Research Administrator has diverse responsibilities. These include assisting researchers with proposal development, reviewing proposals for accuracy and compliance, and providing guidance on budgets. The Research Administrator engages in submitting proposals through electronic systems, tracking submissions, and maintaining records. The successful candidate will be required to stay current on regulations and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements. Additionally, they will serve as a liaison between researchers and funding agencies, communicate proposal status, and coordinate with post-award teams. This role will provide training on pre-award procedures and systems and contribute to improving pre-award processes. The incumbent will directly support our exciting research in a culture of collaboration and belonging.
