The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division provides these services to people in need. JOB SUMMARY This role is responsible for working with current service extension units to help strengthen their teams along with building new units in areas that currently do not have any, additionally this role includes entering stats, completing United Way applications, and some case management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administration and Planning
- Participate with the Service Extension Director in planning for the development of the program and recommend plans and changes in the program.
- Assess community needs, interpret the function of service extension to the communities served through presentations, participation in community planning meetings and developing relationships with personnel in public, private or civic groups.
- Ensure ongoing training for Service Extension Unit Volunteers and schedule meetings with Service Extension Volunteers.
- Ensure relevance and consistency of social services by collaborating with other Salvation Army units and personnel to successfully maintain and achieve policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and outcome-based measures related to social services.
2.Policy and Procedure
- Maintain thorough documentation in relation to funding requirements.
- Ensure that Service Extension Units understand information n eeded and the critical nature of these requirements.
- Monitor the adherence to Service Extension Guidelines.
3. Supervision/Management
- Develop and maintain teams of community partners that are supported and resourced to provide competent missional service. This includes identifying, onboarding and providing supervision to volunteers while connecting partners and clientele to community resources.
- Meet with service extension volunteers within the community, officers and staff quarterly to offer support, training and information regarding community linkages and programmatic requirements. This includes intake processes, and the collection of data needed to meet program-reporting requirements.
- Provide case consultation to service extension volunteers with crisis intervention (emergency assistance) and case management. Review and process requests for emergency assistance
- Monitor, on a regular basis, Service Extension Unit expenditures versus their budget.
- Promote special fund-raising activities in designated Service Extension areas and encourage volunteer involvement.
4. Other Duties
- Provide client casework when necessary.
- Completes United Way applications.
- Completes Stats for all the CIAC service extension units.
- Provide support in responding to disasters in cooperation with the Emergency Disaster Services Department.

LIMITATIONS
- This individual will only commit Army resources that have been allocated or approved.
- This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. The individual will keep the CIAC Service Extension Director informed of all critical issues relating to their area of responsibility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position may be required to do light physical work.
- To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment including a PC and make a public presentation.
- The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a low to moderate noise level.
- This individual must be able to travel to meet the needs of the position. A valid MVR is required. Must have a willingness to travel within the assigned region and maintain a flexible schedule within business hours.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- This position reports to the CIAC Service Extension Director.
- In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual will interact with a wide range of contacts both internal and external. In these contacts he/she will act as a representative of the Army and its mission.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES
- This individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes of this position are achieved. Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed. An evaluation of how effective service is provided. Performance will also be determined by outcome information provided during weekly staff meetings and monthly reports.
- Timeliness and accuracy of accomplishing assigned goals will be reviewed in bi-monthly supervision meetings.
- An evaluation of how effective service is provided within budgetary guidelines.
POSITION LIMITATIONS
- This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
- This position reports to the CIAC Service Extension Director.
- This position supervises Service Extension volunteers in the North-West CIAC area.
- This individual relates to, and interacts with, a wide range of contacts both within and outside the Salvation Army (including Service Extension volunteers, personnel within Salvation Army and other churches, social service agencies, townships, villages and local United Ways).
- In contacts related to this position's duties, this individual acts as a representative of The Salvation Army and its mission.
