Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Contract Specialist.

In this role, the successful candidate as the Contract Specialist is part of the Supply Chain Management team and will be part of the Strategic Sourcing function. This role will be responsible for managing the full life cycle of contracts within the strategic sourcing function. The Contract Specialist will provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract related matters and will draft review redline and negotiate contracts within the framework provided by the Office of General Counsel OGC while partnering with strategic sourcing. The Contract Specialist will ensure compliance with enterprise policies and procedures and will possess or build subject matter expertise within the key strategic sourcing areas e.g. Clinical Medical/Surgical Corporate Service IT to effectively support the Strategic Sourcing Team. The successful candidate will excel in team work and collaboration to ensure timely execution of contracts. The contract specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders including strategic sourcing procurement legal clinical teams or business teams to ensure that contracts align with functional or mission goals and needs

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract-related matters and within OGC guidelines
  • Review and draft contracts, including vendor agreements, service agreements, master agreements and purchase orders
  • Negotiate contract terms with vendors and partners independently or in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing, escalating to the OGC as needed
  • Implement, manage and coordinate contract training of internal teams based on OGC guidelines
  • Manage contract databases and ensure accurate and timely contract renewals
  • Monitor and report on contract performance and compliance
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that contracts align with mission goals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management processes and procedures including the administration of any internal CMS (contract management system)
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a minimum of college degree and/or a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination. Strong understanding of contracting principles and practices. Strong critical thinker with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with contract management software. Highly productive with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business law or a related field JD is a plus 5 years of experience in contract review drafting and management with a preference for experience within the healthcare industry and/or facilities IT and professional service contracts

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $116,600.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
