Coordinator- Patient Resources and Education, Henry Ford Cancer

As the Coordinator of Patient Resources and Education for Henry Ford Cancer, you will be the vital link connecting patients, families, caregivers, and the community to the tools, services, and support they need to navigate the cancer journey. In this dynamic role, you'll manage patient support programs, curate educational materials, foster partnerships with community organizations, and bring life to engaging events that inspire and inform. From staffing the Brigitte Harris Cancer Pavilion resource room to leading communications through newsletters, web updates, and events, you'll ensure every patient feels informed, supported, and empowered-both during treatment and long after.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An associate's degree or two years of college (required)

  • At least three years of related work experience; healthcare experience preferred

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and social media knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging patients, families, and staff in person, by phone, and by email

  • Previous healthcare and/or hospitality/concierge experience preferred

  • Creativity, innovative thinking, and enthusiasm for serving others

  • Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly personality

  • Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of supportive oncology leadership:

  • The coordinator will connect oncology patients, family members, caregivers, and the community at large to resources within and outside Henry Ford Health that will support them through their cancer treatment and beyond.


EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Associate's degree or two (2) years of college required.

  • Three (3) years of related work experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Health care experience preferred.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office suite, and social media knowledge required.

  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively both over the telephone, email and in-person with patients, visitors, medical staff, and other clinic and/or hospital personnel.

  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

  • Previous concierge or hospitality experience preferred.

  • Abiity to demonstrate creativity and innovative thinking.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

  • Enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills.

  • Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly personality.
