Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner, Orthopedic Oncology Team

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive care of subspecialty Orthopedic Oncology team patients as well as trauma/fracture patients.
  • Treating new and established patients, interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pre-op and post-op appointments, and coordination of care.
  • Managing acute and chronic orthopedic conditions that span infant to young adult age groups.
  • Will require some cross coverage at Dana Farber Cancer Institute
  • Working four 10-hour shifts per week with built in administrative time- Clinic coverage would be primarily at Main Boston location, with potential travel to satellites

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Master's Degree from a Physician Assistant program or a Master's Degree in Nursing

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a PA/NP in pediatrics, orthopedics or oncology is preferred
  • A strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.
  • Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific, or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
  • Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse PNP or FNP or as a Physician Assistant

**Sign-on bonus of $5,000.00 for fulltime (40 hours) NP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
