POSITION SPECIFICS

The Bryce Jordan Center seeks a Marketing Strategist who is a digitally skilled, data-informed communicator responsible for driving audience engagement and ticket sales through targeted campaign execution, content creation, and market research. This position plays a central role in the Bryce Jordan Center's event marketing efforts, leveraging tools like Meta Ads Manager, TM1, and audience data to inform strategy, measure results, and enhance campaign effectiveness.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and collaborating with other senior leadership, the position works independently and exercises sound judgment to lead tactical marketing execution across digital and traditional platforms. It also co-supervises a team of college marketing interns, guiding content development and digital engagement efforts.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who brings a strong digital skillset and creative sensibility to a fast-paced live event environment. The position offers opportunities to grow professionally while helping elevate the profile and performance of one of Penn State's most prominent venues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Marketing & Digital Strategy

  • Develop and implement event-specific marketing strategies across digital and traditional platforms, working closely with the Director of Marketing
  • Execute paid and organic social media campaigns using Meta Ads Manager and similar tools, optimizing reach and ROI
  • Analyze campaign data using platforms like TM1 and similar tools to refine audience targeting and creative direction
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance across social media, email, and web, and make real-time recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure all campaigns align with brand standards, accessibility requirements, and contractual/promotional obligations

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Create engaging digital content (posts, graphics, short-form video) to promote events and support brand positioning
  • Adapt content for distribution across various platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Meta, X (Twitter), web, email, and signage
  • Capture and edit photo/video content at events and venue activations as needed
  • Develop content that reflects community storytelling and enhances fan connection to the BJC brand
  • Support content marketing initiatives, including concepting, copywriting, and editing

Market Research, Analytics & Innovation

  • Use internal and external research tools to understand audience behaviors and market trends
  • Apply findings to shape marketing strategies and optimize campaign impact
  • Monitor emerging digital platforms and industry trends to recommend new tactics or tools that improve efficiency or effectiveness

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners (media, promoters, agencies) to align strategy
  • Co-supervise and mentor marketing interns, managing assignments, providing feedback, and supporting professional development
  • Support community-facing promotional opportunities, media coordination, and event-week marketing operations
  • Maintain timelines and deliverables for marketing campaigns, coordinating with vendors and partners as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in digital marketing, event marketing, or content creation (venue or live event setting will be given priority consideration)
  • Proficiency in Meta Ads Manager, Canva, and email marketing tools; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
