Boston Medical Center - Brighton (BMC-Brighton) in Brighton, MA, is seeking a per-diem physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their emergency team. Boston Medical Center - Brighton is a 267-bed academic community teaching hospital affiliated with the Tufts Medical School. Our department is staffed by a dedicated group of board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, residents and physician assistants. Residents in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Surgery and Psychiatry rotate in the ED. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a collegial group of EM providers in the desirable Boston neighborhood of Brighton.

Responsibilities:

  • Detailed Patient Histories: Obtain comprehensive patient histories, meticulously documenting medical, social, and family backgrounds to inform accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Thorough Physical Examinations: Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission, utilizing advanced clinical skills to identify and assess medical conditions.
  • Emergency Care Expertise: Deliver expert care in emergency situations, managing patients with varying levels of acuity, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Expert Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures: Execute bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with precision, ensuring optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care is required.
  • A Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants is required or master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program.
  • Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside our emergency physicians and Emergency Medicine residents.
