Position Highlights

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate I or II for the research laboratory of Emmanuel Katsanis, MD to pursue studies in transplant and tumor immunology. Research involves murine bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation and tumor models. Studies may also include use of human cells and humanized NSG mouse models. Ongoing research includes novel approaches in activating anti-tumor responses, strategies to alter immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, immunomodulation in murine BMT models, and donor graft manipulation and pharmacological interventions.

Candidates should have a PhD or MD and a strong foundation in cellular and/or tumor immunology. Candidates with a background in immunology and experience with mouse models are of particular interest. The successful candidate will join a team working in a research field with promising clinical applications.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Immunological and molecular biological assays in vitro and in vivo.
  • Write manuscripts and knowledge of relevant literature.
  • Write and assist with grants.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications

For the Postdoctoral Research Associate, level I:

  • MD or PhD Degree
  • Expertise in cellular and/or tumor immunology, or a related field.

For the Postdoctoral Research Associate, level II:

  • MD or PhD Degree
  • Expertise in cellular and/or tumor immunology, or a related field.
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience leading similar research at other institutions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in immunologic techniques, flow cytometry, proliferation and cytokine assays, cytotoxicity assays, T cell subset isolation, immunohistochemistry, molecular biological techniques, mammalian cell culture and experience with murine models.
