Job Description:



Summary
Manages the general ledger processes to deliver accurate and timely accounting results. Ensures propermaintenance of accounting records, compliance with organizational accounting requirements, andparticipates in developing and enforcing accounting policies. Works cross-functionally with businesspartners to support strategic imperatives that drive the business. Helps the organization gain financialinsight into the business, improve decision making, and achieve objectives. Oversees a department ofAccounting professionals.

Essential Functions
This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrictthe tasks that may be assigned.
* Manages or participates in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements for theorganization. Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day accounting, month-end/year-end close, andannual financial audit processes for areas of responsibility.
* Ensures compliance with organizational accounting policies, financial integrities, and income taxbasisor GAAP reporting requirements, as appropriate. Interprets and applies the accountingrequirements to the business.
* Establishes and maintains accounting systems, processes, and reporting/analysis tools to meetaccounting and reporting requirements.
* Leads the integration and implementation of accounting systems and trains personnel
* Researches and responds to complex accounting issues arising from the preparation of financialstatements, accounting policies and procedures, interpretation of regulations, audits, and otherspecial projects or transactions.
* Assists the external audit team to ensure all requests are satisfied promptly and accurately, andprovides auditors with adequate understanding of accounting processes.
* Responsible for development, documentation, and ongoing compliance with internal controls.
* Develops and executes recommendations to improve systems, policies, and procedures; ensures timely and accurate implementation.

* Participates in department and interdepartmental planning and management teams and workscross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
* Implements a successful vision/strategy, through strong leadership skills.
* Builds a culture of teamwork and accountability.
* Mentors, coaches, develops and manages employees to ensure all goals and strategies can beachieved.
* Evaluates bench strength and determines who is suitable for movement in key positions.
* Monitors and ensures achievement of performance goals and objectives either directly or throughsubordinate staff.
* Ensures employee conformance to established best practices and proper training of staff.
* Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
* Researches and analyzes various complex technical accounting matters as they arise. Works onspecial projects, reports or analyses as required by management related to accounting andreporting matters and reports the findings and makes recommendations to leadership.
* Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safetyregulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring theirunderstanding and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities
* Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff.
* If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews andcommunicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary;addresses complaints and resolves issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or State-issued equivalency.
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance plus 5 years ofaccounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance plus 4 years of G3 accountingexperience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
* Experience leading a high performing team of Accounting professionals.
* Proficiency using MS Excel and MS Office products at an intermediate level to effectivelymanage, analyze, and report on a wide variety of data.
* Intermediate level experience with accounting ERP software.

Preferred Qualifications
* CPA license or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
* 8 years of accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
* Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financialreporting standards.
* Experience within a high-growth and/or complex manufacturing or logistics operation.
* Advanced MS Excel skills.
* Advanced SAP or equivalent accounting ERP software experience.
* Industry experience: Manufacturing, Transportation, and/or Food and Beverage.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial dataand provide actionable recommendations.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a team ofaccountants.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financialinformation to stakeholders at all levels, including top management.
* Experience with establishing and integrating new accounting software systems, processes, andreporting/analysis tools.
* Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.Skilled in project management with the ability to drive projects to completion.
* Experience working collaboratively with teams of individuals from all levels and functions withinthe Company to drive projects with strategic impacts and improve processes.
* Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing,integrating and controlling.
* Works under pressure, meets aggressive deadlines and makes effective and sound decisions.

Compensation

Hiring Salary Range: $110,700 - $138,400.

Actual compensation amount paid may be lower or higher to be determined by factors other than race and gender such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
