Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office in Raleigh, NC.

We are seeking an innovative Senior Director of Workflow Automation, Governance, and Enablement to lead our bank's process automation priorities and transformation. This strategic role will democratize application development by empowering business and technology users to create solutions using low-code/no-code platforms while maintaining enterprise-grade governance, security, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will establish a comprehensive process automation program that transforms how our organization approaches solution delivery. You will build the infrastructure, training programs, and governance frameworks that enable users of all backgrounds to safely develop applications and automate their workflows. This role is critical to accelerating digital innovation while maintaining the strict operational and regulatory standards required in banking.


Responsibilities

- Establish process automation center of excellence focused on business empowerment
- Create comprehensive enablement programs that transform business users into solution creators
- Partner with enterprise architecture to ensure developed solutions align with technical standards
- Evaluate, select, and
optimize enterprise low-code/no-code platform offerings - Establish process automation vision, strategy, and governance process to drive key use cases to the right implementation platform
- Manage platform roadmaps and vendor relationships with key providers
- Design and implement governance process and operating model specifically for process automation
- Implement data governance and privacy controls for citizen development projects
- Build comprehensive training programs and certification pathways for citizen developers

Lead a team of skilled Pega and Appian platform architects, administrators, engineers, and analysts
- Partner with business units to identify high-impact citizen development opportunities
- Establish intake processes and project prioritization for citizen development initiatives
- Drive change management strategies to foster adoption across the organization
- Measure and communicate business value from citizen-developed solutions
- Serve as citizen development evangelist and thought leader


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Information Technology including application development, support roles, and management. OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Information Technology including application development, support roles, and management.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 1
0+ years of experience in digital transformation, process automation, or enterprise application development
- 6+ years of leadership experience managing technical and business teams
- 8+ years of experience in financial services or highly regulated industries
- Hands-on experience implementing and managing Pega and Appian platforms in enterprise environments

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred (MBA or advanced technical degree)

- Professional certifications in enterprise platforms:
- Pega: Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) or Lead System Architect (LSA)
- Appian: Certified Associate Developer or Senior Developer
- Process improvement certifications (Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean, BPM Professional)
- Previous experience leading large-scale Pega or Appian implementations in banking
- Knowledge of banking-specific use cases for case management and workflow automation
