Job Description

Visa is seeking a Paralegal to join the Global Product, IP and Services legal team to provide support to the Marketing Legal team responsible for advising and supporting Visa Marketing and Sponsorships teams.

Applicants must be experienced in providing assistance on legal drafting and advice related to U.S. marketing and sponsorships. The candidate should be knowledgeable on applicable marketing-related legal and regulatory concerns, including marketing and promotions law, privacy, and licensing. This position requires a business savvy team player who is collaborative with sponsorship, marketing and legal colleagues and can work with minimal supervision. An ideal candidate should be skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and challenging, but highly rewarding, environment, have good judgment and strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, and most importantly, be an optimistic, curious, and collaborative team player.

Visa is Looking for Someone Who Will (Essential Functions)

  • Draft, review and/or negotiate a wide variety of sponsorship-related documents and agreements

  • Assist in the legal review of U.S. marketing activity related to Visa's sponsorships, including advertising, offers, promotions, and other sponsorship-related activities

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
  • Prior experience in marketing/sponsorship paralegal role required
  • Prior experience in contract negotiation and drafting required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Exceptional analytical ability and advocacy skills, ability to provide balanced advice regarding risks and benefits
  • Strong drafting skills
  • Experience reviewing marketing creative and identifying key issues
  • Prior in-house marketing paralegal experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative to address problems and make continuous process improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Sense of humor and commitment to professionalism.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 87,200.00 to 111,400.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
