Shelter Youth and Family Services encourages the application of all bilingual applicants to work with our client community. Certification testing is set by DCFS.

Job Overview

The Clinical Director is responsible for the oversight of Shelter's clinical program. This includes the direct oversight of 3-5 clinicians, MSW interns, and the orientation program at Shelter. The Clinical Director coordinates the implementation of individualized mental health treatment and clinical consultation for all programs throughout the agency. Additionally, the Clinical Director is also responsible for the MyEvolv Electronic Medical Record database and our Medicaid contract.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Provides oversight and coordination of the mental health treatment of our clients, throughout all of our programming



  1. Provides clinical consultation to caseworkers to enhance the effectiveness of their working relationships with clients
  2. Identifies external counseling resources, develops subcontracts, and monitors effectiveness of services
  3. Conducts Mental Health Assessments with recommendations for services
  4. Develops and conducts training for all new employees as well as continued training as needed
  5. Ensures compliance with DCFS protocols regarding periodic assessments, treatment plans, transition and discharge planning and applicable rating scales (CANS, Ansell Casey)
  6. Provides additional clinical services to residents as indicated
  7. Maintains responsibility for the development, training, and use of MyEvolv EMR system by agency staff
  8. Remains Medicaid compliant and oversees the Medicaid contract
  9. Provides daily and clinical supervision of clinicians and student interns
  10. Participates in community and staff meetings, required funder meetings, and other meetings as assigned by Associate Director or CEO
  11. Assists with file reviews and compliance measures
  12. Maintains responsibility for program development and service expansion of the Clinical department


QUALIFICATIONS



  • MSW degree from an accredited school of social work.
  • LCSW in the State of Illinois preferred. Must submit proof of certification.
  • Five to seven years of child welfare experience and past clinical supervisory experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work as a team, but also independently
  • Customer service oriented and will possess superb people skills including the desire and ability to work well with diverse constituencies.
  • Demonstrated passion for and understanding of Shelter's mission, vision, and values.
  • Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License and must submit proof of Illinois auto insurance.
  • Must complete a Medical and TB test providing proof of results.
  • Vaccination for COVID 19 is required
  • Must be fingerprinted and submit to a full background check in accordance with DCFS requirements for child welfare personnel.
