Introduction:

We are seeking a highly experiencedSenior Information Security Specialist Engineerto lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of secure cloud-based and enterprise systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud security, secure engineering practices, and federal cybersecurity standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and contributing to enterprise-wide security initiatives.

This is a proposal-based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Brief technical and non-technical stakeholders on complex security topics, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.

  • Prepare detailed written reports, whitepapers, and oral presentations for internal and external audiences.

  • Design and implement secure cloud-based solutions usingautomationandinfrastructure-as-codeprinciples.

  • Provide expert-level guidance onAWSandMicrosoft Azuresecurity architectures and services.

  • Ensure compliance with government security standards and frameworks, includingNIST RMF,NIST SP 800-53, andNIST Privacy Framework.

  • Conduct industry research to develop technical comparisons, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.

  • ApplyAgile,SAFe, andCI/CDmethodologies to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.

  • Lead or co-lead enterprise technology projects, collaborating with architects, developers, and integrators.

  • Provide hands-on support for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of secure infrastructure and applications.

  • Develop, maintain, and reviseinformation security policies, standards, and guidelines.

Location:
This position will be based in Clarksburg, WV. This is a hybrid position, so you must be within commuting distance of Clarksburg, WV.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreein Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 10+ yearsof experience in information security engineering or related technical roles.

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)- Required.

  • Demonstrated expertise incloud security, particularly withAWSandAzure.

  • Strong understanding ofNIST RMF, security and privacy controls, and federal compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage enterprise-level security initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Top Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degreein a related field.

  • Cloud Security Certification(e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate).

  • Experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and container security platforms.

  • Familiarity with secure DevOps practices and zero trust architecture.
