$90-120K 1st Mequon, WI Job Category: Engineering Job Details: Mostly Vertical mill and lathes (5 axis) The Manufacturing Engineer will be in charge of upgrading the systems for testing and integrating these new machines/ systems into their process. This is a hands on role. As a Manufacturing Engineer - Machining, you will play a critical role in driving manufacturing excellence through process development, optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex machining and automation processes that directly improve efficiency, quality, and cost. You'll collaborate with a talented team to drive innovation and excellence, taking ownership of key responsibilities that directly contribute to our success. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities Include: * Develop, simulate, and optimize CNC machining processes using CAM software and G-code. * Maintain standardized documentation for programs, tool paths, setup sheets, and cycle times. * Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews with cross-functional teams to enhance production readiness. * Support setup and troubleshooting of multi-axis CNC equipment, including 4th/5th axis and live-tooling lathes. * Provide on-site technical support and guidance during process launches. * Investigate and resolve machining issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions. * Lead GR&R studies, capability analysis (CPK, SPC), first-article inspections, and support PPAP submissions. * Collaborate with controls engineers to design and refine robotic cells and automation systems. * Program and adjust robotic systems, including teach points, logic, and error recovery. * Identify and implement lights-out and semi-attended automation opportunities. * Mentor technicians and junior engineers in process development and continuous improvement. * Serve as liaison between production, quality, and design engineering to align objectives. * Coordinate pilot runs, validate new equipment, and execute engineering changes on the shop floor. * Develop and implement standardized work instructions and visual process controls. * Support production efficiency and capability across diverse CNC machining platforms. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while promoting continuous improvement. What We're Looking For: Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge: * Minimum 5-7 years of CNC machining experience, including setup, programming, and process optimization. * Proficient in CAM software, G-code, and machine simulation tools. * Demonstrated ability to train and mentor machinists and technicians. * Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and CMM programming. * Strong record of reducing scrap and improving productivity and quality. * Capable of independently solving complex machining and tooling problems. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams. * Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
