Estimated Starting Salary Range for Data Management Specialist: $90,000 - $94,399.26 Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Data Management Specialist Responsibilities Include:
- Analyze existing foreign assistance datasets (such as GLAAS, ASIST, etc.) for historical trends, gap analysis, and alignment with strategic objectives
- Translate analysis results into clear, actionable communications that enable informed, data-driven decisions by Department stakeholders
- Engage with internal customers to understand business processes, gather requirements, and support iterative development of data products and analytics
- Serve as a technical authority on advanced analytical, statistical, and programming techniques to manage and interpret specialized datasets
- Apply tools and methods including AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and cloud-based data analytics to derive insights
- Use programming languages such as Python or R, and tools like SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and ArcGIS to process, analyze, and visualize data
- Develop and implement usage and access control policies to improve data quality, system performance, and user experience
- Support continuous improvement by collaborating with security and system design teams and recommending enhancements to data systems
- Effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences through storytelling and data visualization
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Data Management Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Master's degree and one (1) year of relevant professional experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of relevant professional experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and seven (7) years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in study design and collaboration to align analytical approaches with organizational goals
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with programming and data analysis using tools such as Python, R, SQL, or SAS
- Minimum three (3) years of experience interpreting large, complex, or unstructured datasets to drive decision-making
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in data visualization and communication, translating findings into clear, actionable formats
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related data processing software and tools
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
