Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Cash Management Supervisor, this position responsible for analyzing, monitoring, preparing, and reconciling financial information to provide financial and statistical data for the control of contract and grant operations. The incumbent prepares and analyzes the documentation to request expense reimbursement via multiple federal payment systems and executes the requests. This position is also responsible for monitoring and
generating corresponding entries and reconciling financial information associated with payment request, as wells as preparing required quarterly reports. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts and accounting practices as well as knowledge of campus policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related area or equivalent years of experience and or training (including financial research administration).
  • Experience with general financial administration principles and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and campus policies, as they relate to contract and grant administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of spreadsheet software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports. Experience working with financial management systems.
  • At least 2 years experience with working with research administration guidelines including Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in university environment or large research institution and/or medical center or equivalent years' experience and or training.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate, both in person and in writing to develop memos, policies, procedures, etc. and the ability to convey them to a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work toward obtaining or maintain Certified Financial Research Administrator designation (or equivalent).
  • Experience with data review and analysis associated with invoice submissions, payment collections, drawdown requests.
  • Experience with enterprise level financial systems.
  • Analytical skills to perform advanced level financial analysis and customized reporting; ability to process data, analyze information, think critically, solve moderate to complex problems, and make effective decisions.
