Summary:

The Manager of Accounting performs a key role in managing the organization's books and records in accordance with GAAP, including maintaining key statistical data. Assists with analysis and other advanced accounting functions for the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Leads accounting team staff in managing the organization's financial records, including the general ledger, funds, grants, projects and fixed assets.

2. Supervises employees, provides direction, coaches, trains and develops, and manages performance to company goals and expectations. Reviews and evaluates monthly and annual journal entries and reconciliations for propriety.

3. Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure controls.

4. Analyzes and monitors financial data, trends, indicators and changes in accounting pronouncements.

5. Supervises and reviews required surveys such as Department of Commerce, OHA, NACHRI, etc.

6. Performs accounting research to determine correct classification of transactions in the general ledger, monthly reporting of expense accounts variance analysis, and preparing and reviewing audit schedules to ensure completeness.

7. Responsible for higher level, more complex accounting areas.

8. Adds value as a key member of management; understands the business, financials, industry, customers and strategy

Technical Expertise

1. Experience in accounting is required.

2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.

3. Experience in healthcare is preferred.

4. Experience with financial statements and footnotes is required.

5. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Accounting software is required.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Master's degree is preferred

2. Licensure: None

3. Certification: CPA is preferred

4. Years of relevant experience: 5 Years of experience is required

5. Years of supervisory experience: 3 Years of supervisory experience is required
