POSITION OVERVIEW: The Senior Safety & Health Specialist will work towards zero unsafe behaviors and conditions being the subject matter expert on all Nespresso areas (office, field, warehouse and retail). The main responsibility will be to help foster a strong safety culture and workplace supporting the facilities via hands-on counsel, supervision, assessment, and implementation of the safety program. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support all safety programs and its implementation in the organization. Ensure responsibilities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and to enforce employee's health and safety at work.
- Provide guidance on Nestle General Instructions (GI).
- Raise safety awareness through employee engagement and company meetings (e.g. town hall).
- Execute Safety trainings and facilitate Behavior Based Safety Programs.
- Support and Maintain ISO 45001 Certification across multiple sites.
- Provide guidance to 3rd parties where Nespresso has product presence (e.g. warehouse, destruction sites).
- Determine retail location readiness to open through Risk Assessments.
- Enforce risk prediction and assessments in all new activities, sites, equipment, operations for the company (e.g. new packing equipment, installations, automation, etc).
- Liaison and technical expertise support: provide technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and other (e.g. Nestle) requirements.
- Perform evaluations of safety through internal audits and self-assessments.
- Review and update policies and procedures as necessary related to the Safety Management program.
- Ensure sites maintain continuous "audit ready" state of compliance with company SH&E policies and procedures as well as all applicable external regulatory requirements.
- Initiates WC Claims to insurance provider.
- Ensure all locations have preferred HCP locations.
- Follow up on Claims as required.
- Partners with Human Resources and Management on Modified Duty review.
- Follow up with employee as needed.
- Work with NUSA SHE team on implementation of programs as required.
- Ensures all actions to prevent recurrence are effectively implemented while also ensuring an effective injury case management process is fully implemented, well understood, and functioning as desired.
- Ensures investigation of all SH&E-related incidents utilizing tools to drive to root cause and identify actions to prevent recurrence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related field is strongly preferred. Experience would be considered in lieu of a degree.
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role with expertise in Safety, Environmental, or Engineering.
- Experience collaborating across several functions, serving as site SH&E leader and/or division, regional, or corporate safety and environmental experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Must be able to travel around 30% of the time to retail locations, contractor sites, and meetings across the US.
SKILLS:
- Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated capability to lead projects and change management.
- Demonstrated ability lead, coach, engage and influence.
- Proficiency Knowledge of Windows software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated experience translating regulatory and technical issues into easily digestible terminology.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills.
Theapproximate payrange for this position is $115,000 to $125,000.Please note that thepay rangeprovided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
