Job Title: Accountant

Location: Fairfax, VA (On-site)


Position Summary:

Omega World Travel is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to join our accounting team. This role offers high visibility within the organization and significant opportunities for professional growth and development. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for supporting daily, weekly, and monthly accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on professional with a strong understanding of core accounting principles and a desire to grow within a dynamic organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting duties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate and timely financial records.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and financial statement preparation.
  • Analyze and review monthly and quarterly revenue and expense trends.
  • Assist the Account Management team in preparing quarterly and annual client financial statements.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation and disposals.
  • Assist with preparation for external audits, tax filings, and other compliance reporting.
  • Document and monitor internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Participate in accounting system implementations and upgrades, including testing, reconciliation, and user documentation.
  • Perform additional accounting duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills (budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a government contracting environment and Travel Management Services is a plus.
