Description
Directs and coordinates departmental activities as it relates to the Engineering, NC Programming and Tooling department to obtain optimum efficiency, functional workflow and to maximize profits. Essential Responsibilities Is responsible for directing and managing the following departments which includes:
- Hires and trains employees & department managers for assigned departments.
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive for direct reports.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Departments to Manage/Direct:
- Manufacturing Engineering and Design
- NC Programming
- Tooling & Fixturing (excludes machining cutting tools and related holders)
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains employee safety and morale by creating safe and efficient working environment.
- Ensures that all subordinates adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ensures employees perform and complete all required training.
- Supports and promotes company 'PACT' policy.
- Represents the company as the technical authority.
- Coordinates activities of assigned departments.
- Responsible for the development of efficient, cost-effective manufacturing methods for producing the company's products.
- Responsible for the development, coordination and utilization of business systems as it relates to managed departments.
- Confers with specified department managers and supervisor personnel to determine priorities to support the best interest of 1) the Company and 2) customer needs.
- Ensures that company and corporate procedures and policies are followed by all department personnel.
- Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to support the production and Quality departments.
- Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting managed departments.
- Participates as an advisory member of the new product development team, providing information and guidance.
- Chairs the Continuous Improvement Board.
- Confers with departments and stakeholders and production staff to plan and assess feasibility of improved methods, cost reduction initiatives and higher quality standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Plans and develops organization policies and goals and implements goals through subordinate administrative personnel.
- Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget
Pay Range: $160,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year

- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Organizational Skills - Is organized and neat with work area and able to maintain a large amount of work in progress in a manner that can be easily followed by others. Utilizes organizational tools such as MS Outlook tasks and reminders to ensure work is completed on time.
- Thorough understanding of company products and processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Ability - Expert knowledge of machining and manufacturing of aerospace parts/assemblies.
- Design - Applies accepted design principals with an attention to detail.
- Dependability - is willing to work extra hours if needed to get the job done, punctual to meetings and is at work on time.
- Quality Management - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in work. Consistently adheres to policies and procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ethics - Keeps commitments and upholds organizational values.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, master's degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
