IEM is looking for a Full-Time Project Manager to work within our Puerto Rico Critical Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for managing the overall operation and direction of complex, federally funded programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, environmental compliance, and utility safety protocols. The Project Manager will develop and maintain comprehensive project work plans, including budgets and schedules, while serving as the primary point of contact between client stakeholders and internal teams.
Primary Location:
- Candidates can live anywhere that meets remote work requirements in the United States including Puerto Rico.
- Work will take place either in the field, in an office environment, or remote from a personal location and will depend on the need of the project.
Travel Requirements:
- Once hired you will travel across the United States- Mainland or Puerto Rico to client sites as needed.
- Daily travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations or DoD Regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the overall operation and direction of the program or project.
- Develop strategies for achieving project goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain Project Work Plan including budget and schedule.
- Serve as Primary Point of Contact between client stakeholders and program team.
- Provide written and oral reports to contract management and client representatives.
- Supervise and coordinate internal teams and external contractors, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with energy sector regulations and safety protocols, particularly in relation to vegetation near power lines and utility infrastructure.
- Conduct detailed inspections and quality checks to ensure vegetation management activities meet safety and performance standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with vegetation management, including safety hazards and environmental impacts.
- Develop long-term vegetation management plans that align with organizational goals and regulatory expectations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community members, and customers, to communicate project objectives and address concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Seven (7) years of relevant experience that includes management of at least three (3) concurrent projects of similar size and complexity.
- Degree: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery.
- Degree: Master's degree in relevant field.
- Bilingual: Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Professional Registration or Certification in Project Management.

- Office Locations: Often, these offices are either owned by the client we work with or by IEM. All candidates are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the office in which they are required to work on that project.
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection.
