Overview:

Make a lasting impact in healthcare design! HGA is seeking and experienced Sr Project Coordinator to join our Southern California healthcare practice. As a Sr Project Coordinator, you will collaborate with HGA's award-winning design and planning leaders on innovative healthcare projects that prioritize thoughtful planning, research, sustainability, and architectural excellence. We're looking for a strong team leader who enjoys managing complex project teams and thrives on building and sustaining long-term client relationships in the healthcare sector.

You can expect to work closely with Principals, Senior Designers, Project Managers, and Project Architects to develop creative, high-performance solutions that respond to client goals and timelines; contribute to the growth of client relationships through exceptional design services and project delivery; and help drive HGA's commitment to design excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction.

This position requires strong communication, time management, and technical skills, as well as a passion for healthcare architecture and strategic team collaboration.



In this role you will:

    collaborate with Principals and Project Managers in evaluation of project requirements to negotiate an acceptable owner-architect agreement including the fee and time schedule;
  1. demonstrate task-focused mastery of project scope, profitability, schedule and budget;
  2. complete projects on schedule, within budget and with maximum client satisfaction;
  3. negotiate critical issues with top-level architects, engineers and officials of other organizations and firms;
  4. understand healthcare terminology as it relates to services, departments and building types in the healthcare setting;
  5. understand and manage design with respect to building systems, security, technology and medical equipment specific to healthcare settings;
  6. monitor quality of the construction documents keeping in mind schedules/budgets and provides coaching/communication as appropriate with team leaders and/or team members who are responsible for work flow/time-lines, etc.;
  7. develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project and monitor project costs, completion status against budget schedules/time-lines. Coordinates with the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader to track and develop owner add service requests as necessary during project design and construction;
  8. have working knowledge of coordination with all state and local authorities having jurisdiction over healthcare facilities design and construction. Understand and coordinate the multiple agencies requirements given the project scope;
  9. oversee all correspondence and pertinent documents for accuracy. Obtain signatures and seek legal counsel as appropriate;
  10. coordinate's review and evaluation of contractor bids and works with Principal so that award recommendation can be submitted to owner;
  11. provide day-to-day leadership in the absence of and as delegated by the Principal and/or Practice Group Leader keeping lines of communication open with all office management leaders and assist with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature; and
  12. collaborate with Practice Group Leader as requested in the marketing of projects including development of proposals and possible participation in client interviews.


You will need to have:

  • 10+ years of professional experience honed on increasingly more complex healthcare projects
  • OSHPD (HCAi) experience highly desirable
  • understanding of the healthcare industry, especially in areas of clinical innovation, operational improvement, planning and strategic positioning for complex hospital systems is needed
  • experience with Lean and Evidence-based design a plus
  • architectural registration is preferred but not required
  • working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other industry accepted software as well as expertise with Project Manager software and Microsoft Office products is needed
  • exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients and have demonstrated the ability to oversee and be responsible for project delivery


Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $92,400 - $117,600
