We are seeking a highly experienced Underwriter, to join the Risk Team. You will be the liaison between the Individual Life and Health Underwriting teams, as well as to other Corporate partners in the organization, as needed. This position serves these Department teams as a consultant to evaluate referrals and provide recommendations, or to take further action to the Special Investigations Unit, if necessary, to mitigate fraud risk. As part of the forensic underwriting involvement, you will conduct Background Checks, review medical records and conduct post-issue analysis as it relates to a specific case or underwriting program. You will review Department of Insurance inquiries and State regulatory actions with Underwriting Leaders and provide the Individual Underwriting department response to the Compliance team. In addition, this position will conduct contestable claims reviews to evaluate if material misrepresentation is identified and facilitate findings to the Claims department. This role involves knowledge of Individual Life and Health medical, financial and all underwriting processes, as well as, various tools and underwriting requirements available for use within the department.

- Estimated Annual Salary - Underwriter IV - $84,500 - $100,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Minimum of 5 years medical underwriting in Life/Health insurance.
- Ability to make sound, logical decisions and justify them effectively.
- Strong focus on accuracy and precision in tasks and decisions.
- Skilled in creative problem-solving and applying innovative solutions.
- Strong aptitude in mathematics and proficiency with various software tools, including Microsoft applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners.

- Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:
- History of providing team leadership and mentorship.
- Industry Courses: LOMA 280/281; LOMA 290/291; LOMA 311 and either LOMA UND 386, and ALU 101/201.
- College degree preferred or equivalent work experience in the insurance industry.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, and/or related field; or equivalent experience in insurance industry
