Echo Global Logistics is seeking a UX Team Lead within our Shipper Product Domain to help drive the strategic user experience vision and execution across a suite of products. This role will have a broad impact across key user groups including shippers, client sales representatives, and operations teams, with a primary focus on modernizing and enhancing Echo's TMS to support high-speed, high-volume transactional workflows and will report into the SVP of Product.

As UX Team Lead, you will be responsible for owning the conceptual design and layout of the Shipper focused capabilities, ensuring usability, performance, and intuitive design are core to every product experience. You will lead and mentor a team of UX designers, guide discovery and design efforts, and collaborate cross-functionally with the Carrier UX team lead, product and engineering leadership to bring a modern, scalable design system to life.

  • Lead and manage a team of Shipper UX designers which own user research, information architecture, interaction design and usability evaluation
  • Actively participate in strategic roadmapping activities; work collaboratively across the organization and partner with Product Management, Product Engineering, Product Ownership and Executive Leadership to understand product roadmaps
  • In collaboration with Carrier UX Team Lead, drive enterprise design system definition and governance of the practice; establish UI/UX standards, development guidelines, frameworks, and tools for internal and external software products and tech capabilities
  • Develop an expert level of knowledge and understanding of the shipper domain and business processes; develop deep expertise of Echo's internal and client-facing technology products
  • Foster a collaborative environment to allow UX to support multiple cross functional delivery teams (Software Engineers, Product Owners, Product Managers, and Business Owners/Executives) in an Agile environment
  • Be a forward thinking thought leader and influence the rest of the organization on latest tech, experience and design trends
  • Ensure the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of all deliverables per business goals and expectations
  • Attract and recruit A-list talent to the team; structure well-balanced, high-performing, passionate team
  • Support administrative programs/initiatives (e.g. training, career frameworks, recruiting programs) to improve the organization's and its members' skills and capabilities; commit fully to the professional growth of the team
Position Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in Product UI/UX Design, with at least 2 years in a lead or management role
  • Ability to set strategic UI/UX vision for enterprise level web-based applications and products
  • Understanding of how to design meaningful user interactions which enable complex business capabilities
  • Exposure to the full software development lifecycle experience in an Agile-SCRUM environment
  • Proven people and thought leader
  • Aptitude to connect effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced level experience with user research, information architecture, interaction design, usability evaluation, accessibility evaluation, enterprise design, and usability concepts
  • Advanced level experience with prototyping, presentations and flowcharting (tool-agnostic)
  • Expert level with refining and decomposing specifications into its simplest elements; translating business needs into visionary concepts in the form of prototypes, mockups, wireframes, and user interface designs
  • Proven track record in working in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Self-managed and motivated; organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication, meeting facilitation, and organizational skills with ability to express elaborate business concepts in technical terms via presentations and written format
  • Experience with B2B products and/or E-Commerce is a plus
  • Logistics, 3PL, Supply Chain experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience
  • Graduate-level degree in a relevant field is a plus

Compensation

$129,200.00-189,800.00 per year This role is eligible for a bonus that is based on a combination of personal and business performance.
