Process Manager, Continuous Improvement

Position Summary

The Process Manager, Continuous Improvement is a strategic partner to site leadership, responsible for leading and driving a culture of continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This role leads CI initiatives that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while building long-term capability at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned)




  • Serve as a CI subject matter expert and advisor to site/plant leadership teams.
  • Own and manage the Continuous Improvement (CI) project portfolio ("hopper") for the site/plant.
  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives and Kaizen events aligned to plant goals and business priorities.
  • Drive progress on Lean Maturity Assessments by closing identified gaps through action planning and implementation.
  • Coach and mentor employees and leaders to achieve site capability-building targets.
  • Develop and execute effective change management strategies to support transformation.
  • Facilitate and support the deployment of Lean tools and systems (5S, visual factory, standard work, etc.).
  • Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex operational challenges.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities and ensure accountability for CI event commitments and open actions.
  • Champion daily management systems including Tiered Accountability, Leader Standard Work, and Layered Process Audits.
  • Develop and implement internal communication plans to promote CI awareness and engagement.
  • Plan and deliver workshops, training sessions, and CI-related events.

Minimum Job Requirements (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).



Experience Required



  • 10 years of in industrial manufacturing setting
  • 5 years of continuous improvement leadership
  • Demonstrated experience leading functional teams or projects



Certifications



  • Certified in Lean methodology (e.g., Lean Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher).


Preferred Qualifications and Skills:



  • Mastery of core Lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management.
  • Demonstrated success implementing plant-wide 5S systems.
  • Experience in extended value stream analysis and improvement.
  • Expertise in materials flow, inventory strategies, and capacity analysis.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC), including root cause analysis and statistical tools.
  • Proven ability to lead Quick Changeover (SMED) and Mistake-Proofing (Poka-Yoke) initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of Leader Standard Work and Daily Tiered Management Systems.
  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and certifying CI practitioners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Able to drive engagement, alignment, and performance through effective change leadership.
  • Capable of simplifying complex issues and fostering consensus-based solutions.

  • Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to plant operations and industrial conditions
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn as required by safety guidelines.
