About The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Privacy Counsel to join our growing Legal team, who can translate complex global privacy, data protection, marketing, and AI regulations into clear, business-focused guidance. This role will work cross-functionally with our Security, Marketing, Product, Engineering, HR, and business teams. This role will support the evolution of our global privacy program and responsible AI program. What you'll do:



  • Support our global privacy program and advise internal teams on privacy, data protection, healthcare, and AI matters (e.g., U.S. state privacy laws, HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, PECR, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess legal risk and support initiatives.
  • Develop, refine, and implement policies, procedures, and playbooks to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide legal support for incident response, vendor risk reviews, audits, and data subject rights requests.
  • Understands the letter of the law and can approach problems in a practical, principled way.
  • Complete compliance documentation (records of processing, risk assessments, data privacy impact assessments, etc.)
  • Draft and negotiate privacy, data, AI, and commercial terms with vendors.
  • Monitor legal developments related to privacy, data protection, marketing, and AI laws and regulations, and supervisory authorities' guidance and decisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills:



  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Requires at least one IAPP certification (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, and/or AIGP).
  • 3-5 years of relevant privacy experience, in-house and/or technology-focused law firm, with at least 2 years of in-house experience.
  • Experience analyzing and advising on privacy, data protection, marketing, adtech, incident response, and AI laws, regulations, and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, U.S. state privacy laws, HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST RMF, ISO 42001, SOC 2 Type 2).
  • You are inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology and privacy, enjoy continually learning and being challenged, and can demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
  • You are able to identify program growth opportunities and develop effective and practical solutions to resolve them.
  • You have strong project management and organizational skills. You are able to prioritize and handle simultaneous projects.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong ability to present complex legal concepts clearly and understandably.
  • Given the rapidly evolving nature of privacy and AI, you are adaptable and willing to learn and grow your skills continuously.
  • You work independently, yet collaboratively, with a positive attitude and a sense of humor.
  • You have a desire to be part of a high-growth, transformational company.


Salary range: $165,000 - $195,000

This is a full-time exempt position. The salary range is for Base Salary. Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, and the employee's geographic location.
