The Histotechnologist Senior provides quality histology services for the Department of Pathology to any and all customers within and outside the environment.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Certified as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HLT) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology*
*Required within 18 months of promotion into position
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP)
*Required within 18 months of promotion into position
Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Histotechnologist
Experience PREFERRED: N/A
Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/training PREFERRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science
Independent action(s) required:
Perform routine histology techniques and problem solve as necessary with direction from supervisor as required.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable):
Serve as supervisor of the histology laboratory in absence of supervisor.
Additional position requirements:
Rotating weekends as required. Holiday scheduling as required. On-call availability as required.
