HOK, a global architecture, design, engineering, and planning firm, is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This is a hybrid position based in our San Francisco office (One Bush Street), with on-site presence required three days per week. As a Project Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely accounting for assigned projects. You'll work closely with Project Managers and Finance leadership to support project setup, billing, reporting, and financial analysis. Key responsibilities include:
Who is the ideal candidate for this role? We are seeking a Project Accountant with a advanced knowledge of project accounting principles and practices, particularly within the architecture, design, or construction industries. The ideal candidate will also have a solid foundation in general accounting and finance concepts, and enjoy analyzing financial reports. The most successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional communication skills-both written and verbal-and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills, is essential. Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or a similar project accounting software is also required. What kind of education and experience are required? A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required, though a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in project accounting, with prior experience in an architecture firm strongly preferred. Many of our roles require the use of specific software. Please refer to the Required and Preferred Software & Skills for details. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position is $71,124 to $87,962. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
