Job Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Administrative Services, the Facilities Director provides overall vision and leadership for the Facilities Department. Paramount among these duties include the development and implementation of college-wide facilities and grounds planning and solutions in support of the college mission and strategic priorities. The Facilities Director will effectively manage college-wide capital infrastructure and assigned maintenance operations services that promote academic success, excellent service to students, and efficient administrative functions. Working in a collaborative environment with administrators, faculty and staff, the Facilities Director will demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties. Essential Functions 30% Collaborate with executive and college leadership to identify current and projected facility needs, as well as opportunities to enhance services and solutions for students, faculty and staff; build, enrich and maintain internal/external collaborative relationships; represent the college in districtwide initiatives, and district/state/national committees and organizations. 30% Ensure management of facilities infrastructure, grounds remodeling, and major maintenance needs are met, solutions and services support and are in place to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff and community members; partner with the executive team and shared governance teams to ensure appropriate funding resources to achieve targeted facilities standards which support access to learning. 20% Ensure the supervision of facilities personnel and provision of professional development options; guide Facilities leadership team in deriving/achieving performance expectations and execution of organizational skills development strategies; lead department-wide effective and professional employee relations and customer interactions. 20% Ensure efficacy of facilities operational strategies and practices; manage organizational budget and ensure adherence to fiscally responsible practices throughout the department; maintain compliance to federal/state/institutional laws and regulations; committed to facilities college wide best practices. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field, six years of progressively responsible facilities planning, maintenance and operations experience which includes two years of management and supervisory experience in public facilities management. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in related field 2. Five or more years of demonstrated Facilities operations focused management experience 3. Five or more years of demonstrated experience procuring or overseeing the procurement of facilities infrastructure needs for the campus, and managing facility service providers. 4. Five or more years of demonstrated experience developing and administering facility and capital budgets 5. Four or more years of demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries with various groups of internal constituents and within a large, complex organization 6. Four or more years of demonstrated oversight over campus facility management, crisis management, disaster recovery and/or business continuity Special Working Conditions
