Description
Steelcase is seeking a visionary and results driven Director of Applied Research & Consulting to lead a high performing team focused on translating social science, workplace strategy, and design research into actionable insights and solutions for clients. This individual will serve as a strategic leader, internal catalyst, and external ambassador for the ARC team. They will shape and execute team strategy, partner closely with regional sales teams, and directly influence top-line performance through high-impact client engagements. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership and team building skills, business development acumen, and a passion for workplace strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams
  • Consulting and/or Familiarity with dealer/client/partner and A&D relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Develop and lead the implementation of the team strategy
  • Oversee development of consulting efforts to increase our win rate on our most important opportunities and drive furniture top line growth. Develop and monitor sales / revenue target and impact on the furniture win rate
  • Closely collaborate with Workspace Futures and regional leadership to extend the competitive advantage and partnership we develop with our customers
  • Develop partnership with sales leadership and other sales support functions.
  • Lead our ARC consulting team in North America
  • Hire, develop, coach the consultants
  • Set direction and manage department budget
  • build a high performing distributed cross functional team of consultants
  • As required, personally assumes responsibility for business development of engagements and for client consulting engagements
  • Join strategic networking and represent the company
