Job Overview

The Tegris Sales and Systems Engineer is responsible for providing the overall technical support for the field-based sales teams as it relates to video integration, configuration, pre-sales project management, and training. This position also plays a key role in the successful implementation of operating room (OR) A/V integration post-sale.




  • Provide technical sales consulting in pre-sale situations, including insights into Tegris capabilities, video and information flows, cost-effective configurations, and unique enterprise solutions.
  • Assist sales force with pre-sales scope definitions, matching customer requirements to technical specifications, ensuring product, quote, and installation accuracy.
  • Act as a pre-sales project manager, gathering customer needs and requirements, advising on practical approaches, ensuring profitability and success, and contributing to a smooth handoff from Sales to PM post-PO.
  • Provide system design services for Tegris projects, including infrastructure planning, system design, documentation, cable plans, and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including system diagrams, specifications, test plans, and integration workflows.
  • Deliver Bill of Materials (BOM), ordering coordination, wiring diagrams, pull sheets, and other documentation in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Collaborate with the DHS Territory Manager for a smooth post-PO handoff from Sales to Project Management and participate in the Project Kick-Off with the customer.
  • Train new sales reps on technology, competition, and project management processes.
  • Gather, process, and share competitive information to assist DHS Territory Managers in differentiating Tegris from competitive offerings.
  • Contribute to trade shows, demonstrations, trials, and other venues, leading/assisting with planning, logistics, setup, and presenting solutions professionally.
  • Provide IT infrastructure requirements to the customer's IT team and complete customer IT security surveys.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in audio/video integration, medical technology, and related infrastructure design, applying this knowledge to improve solutions and processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with 3rd party product partners to ensure Tegris systems are designed around the latest technologies.
  • Ensure all integrated systems meet regulatory requirements, including safety, data security, and healthcare compliance (FDA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Provide feedback about product enhancements or bugs through service and engineering.
  • Work with marketing to develop and provide sales tools and demo tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Management/Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Operating Room Audio/Video Integration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical knowledge in the assigned product line, preferred.
  • Proven understanding of medical construction engineering and local codes and standards.
  • Proven understanding of healthcare information technology infrastructure and security requirements.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and passport for international travel up to 50%.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Excellent understanding of video integration technology
  • Understanding of hospital IT departments, IT networking/connectivity, IT Security and EMR/PACs systems
  • Understanding of cloud services and SaaS as it pertains to OR Integration
  • Experience working with Canadian healthcare preferable
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, NIST, IEC, ISO) related to medical device integration and server based software
  • Excellent understanding of Getinge solutions and implementation capabilities
  • Communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to relate successfully with customers of all kinds
  • Excellent presentation and objection-handling skills
  • Excellent planning and implementation skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision



Salary range: $90k - $105k depending on experience and location
