Starting Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 - position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.

As After-Action Review Advisor, you will be at the forefront of MISO's efforts to strengthen operational reliability through rigorous event reviews and Human Performance Improvements. This role requires a sharp eye for risk, strong analytical thinking, and relationship-building skills.

As After-Action Review Advisor, you will lead and facilitate After-Action Reviews following operational events, identifying root causes and lessons learned. Then, you will ensure these are translated into effective mitigation strategies that are integrated across training programs, processes and implementation. This includes facilitating training sessions related to operational events and HPI, reinforcing organizational learning and continuous improvement. To do this, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement change-influencing and driving accountability across teams. Lastly, you will deliver impactful reports and risk insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders.

In one year as our After-Action Review Advisor, you will know you were successful if:



  • You enhanced and executed a streamlined After-Action Review process with clearly defined cross-functional ownership.
  • You captured and leveraged real-time information during and post-event to minimize the need for follow-ups.
  • You delivered clear, data-driven reports on event reviews and organizational risk to senior leadership.
  • You facilitated meaningful cross-functional collaboration that resulted in measurable process improvements.
  • You collaborated to create or enhanced training that incorporates insights from real events and supports long-term organizational resilience.


We are looking for hardworking professionals who have:



  • At least a bachelor's degree or (High School Diploma, GED with 8 years relevant work experience equivalency and advanced training, certification or degree)
  • At least six years of experience in risk management, disaster risk reduction
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience with event analysis and root cause identification
  • Prior experience working in a regulated environment


We would also prefer demonstrated experience with Human Performance Improvement (HPI) in the energy industry. You can expect occasional travel (up to 20%) for regional visits including meetings, training or business events.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
