Aircraft Painter - Technician A

Airbus Helicopters is looking for an Aircraft Painter - Technician A to join our team based in Columbus, MS.

You will be part of the team to prepare all components and airframe surfaces for painting and perform the painting of the components and airframes IAW Airbus manufacturer procedures

On the eastern border of Mississippi you'll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It's here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.

Your challenges:

• Prepare all surfaces for paint by sanding, masking, filling, washing and removal of dents.

• Apply corrosive preventative treatments, primers, and finish coats of special Material.
• Complete Aircraft for customer acceptance by brush touch-up, cleaning striping lines and removal of overspray

Your boarding pass:

• Minimum of four (4) years of Painting and Paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components.
• Able to read and work from blue prints and Bills of material (BOM) to ensure proper coatings are applied IAW Technical Data.
• Familiarity with common aviation type tooling.

Physical Requirements:

* Onsite or remote: 100% Onsite

* Vision: able to see and read computerscreensand other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily

* Hearing:able toparticipate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear soundson the productionfloor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily

* Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily

* Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily

* Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily

* Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Daily

* Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily

* Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, workingon the computer.

* Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily

* Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices oron the productionfloor. Daily

* Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.

* Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily

* Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

* Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floorvisits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
