Le Meridien St Louis Clayton is currently looking for a driven Catering & Convention Services Manager to join our high-functioning sales team!

JOB OVERVIEW: Solicit and book Catering functions resulting in customer satisfaction and profitability. Document and organize detailed requirements of each function and coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts.

REPORTS TO: Director of Catering & Convention Services

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Client Relations:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations for events.




  • Event Planning:




    • Oversee all phases of event preparation, from menu development and logistics to execution. Coordinate activities of various departments to service accounts.


  • Collaboration

    • Assists and works with the Director of Catering & Convention Services in successful achievement and implementation of sales activities related to the Catering Sales Marketing Plan.


  • Operational Excellence:

    • Ensure timely distribution of event details in the form of BEOs, change logs or any other documents the hotel teams need to assure event execution.




  • Sales and Revenue:




    • Assist sales staff in promoting hotel, developing leads and securing rebooking. Proactively pursue leads and existing accounts through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, etc.




  • Budget Management:




    • Maximize use of all available hotel space to generate food & beverage revenues.




  • Quality Control:




    • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property procedures




  • Problem Solving:




    • Address issues and challenges as they arise, ensuring smooth operation and high-quality service.

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Attention to detail and a passion for food and service
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards
  • Experience in event planning and management
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 20 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Culinary knowledge and experience (preferred)
  • Business and marketing skills (preferred)
