I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibility is the movement of material between the north and south plants. To perform a variety of semiskilled manual duties requiring a knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions. To adhere to the general safety plan. May be required to do other duties as requested by supervisor. Primary job functions may require exercising independent judgement. Performs work at a quality level consistent with Wabash National standard practice. Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.

  • QUALIFICATIONS


Must have both written and verbal communication skills. High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred for this position. Possess required math skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Demonstrate ability to handle sample Warehouse situations and paperwork. Must have or be willing and able to obtain a valid CDL certification within 30 days. Must successfully complete hoist training and an observational audit of shuttle driving within 30 days.



IV. PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Requires minimum of eight hours of standing, bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling, with a full range of body mechanics.
  2. Regularly required to lift up to 30 pounds. Frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
  3. Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder or stairs, and climbing in trailers.
  4. Must have ability to operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and manufacturing equipment, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).




  1. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT


The work environment includes exposure to high decibels, temperature and weather variations, metal welding processes, and chemicals which may include solvents, undercoating, paint, and caulking.
