Pay Rate: $33

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing all ranch trucks, tractors, booster pumps and other ranch equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

* Prioritize with Ranch Foreman and Management the functions for field equipment repairs ensuring minimal downtime for farming operations. Communication is High Priority with this position.

* Provide regular servicing of ranch equipment to include oil and filter changes.

* Complete all necessary mechanical repairs including small engine and transmission, upkeep of older fleet of trucks, row crop tractors and implements.

* Transport equipment as necessary.

* Oversee proper disposal of used oil and filters.

* Other duties as assigned, must be able to support overtime emergency repairs if necessary.

* Must provide own tools.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

* 5 to 10 years mechanic service experience preferably in ag industry.
* Must provide welding skills in addition to mechanical repairs.
* Knowledge of mechanical repair of farm equipment.
* Welding skills required.
* Ability to price and purchase essential parts required for farming operations to include working with various vendors
* Adhere to all DFV safety standards
* Fluency in Spanish and English

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to work in various weather conditions
* Ability to walk in uneven ground
* Ability to climb on and off farming equipment
* Limited travel to various ranches and division headquarters
* Must be able to exert some force and weight to be lifted up to 50 lbs.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays required.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

* High school education and/or technical mechanic school instruction desirable.
* Welding skills required.

PAY RATE:

$33.00
