Job Description

Benefits:

Salary:

$105,000 - $130,000 + 10% Bonus Target

Summary:

This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accounting controls are followed to properly record accounting transactions in a consistent manner for all corporate locations. Assemble the information into decision-making and performance-management reports. Formulate policy and procedure recommendations for accounting transactions which accurately reflect the condition of the business. In addition, a high level of communication and interaction with both accounting and non-accounting personnel at the various locations will be critical.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and control general ledger system activities for Corporate business unit.
  • Lead staff accountants, perform annual performance reviews, and inspire career growth.
  • Fulfill corporate reporting requirements of monthly, quarterly, and annual performances as well as any external reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate intercompany cross charge process for charges to and from Corporate business unit.
  • Partner with Treasury and AP Departments to support payment process for US and Canada.
  • Monthly review of journal entries for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Perform monthly review and analysis of all general ledger accounts and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate all variances between general ledger balances and subsidiary ledgers or other independent documentation.
  • Support quarterly forecast and annual budget process for Corporate business unit, partnering with Corporate FP&A and Department Leaders.
  • Prepare correcting journal entries as required.
  • Directly administer the monthly closing within prescribed timetables; ensure that the financial statements are accurate and service the needs of the company.
  • Suggest modifications to or additional reports which enhance their benefit to management.
  • Manage financial and operational aspects of general accounting, cash, fixed assets, payroll, etc.
  • Develop processes aimed at maximum efficiency and reduced paperwork costs within the Finance department.
  • Manage external and internal audits and participate in the preparation of all schedules and summaries required by the auditors as well as coordinate the collection of all data located at other company locations.
  • Establish a results-oriented management style that measures and evaluates individual and team performance against clearly defined accountabilities, responsibilities and objectives.
  • Develop and promote a management style and culture that encourages teamwork, cooperation, participative management techniques, and the human relations philosophy of Signode.
  • Stay informed and in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SIG financial policies.
Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years in accounting.
  • 2-5 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Proficient in MS Office (expert in Excel).
