Quality Control Technician - 2nd Shift

In this role, you will be deploying and facilitating the quality culture in Electrification Smart Power (ELSP). You will be responsible for ensuring and controlling quality to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations, representing the voice of the customer, and upholding product and process compliance to ABB standards. This position reports to

Customer Quality Manager

Your responsibilities
  • Inspect and troubleshoot any defects or discrepancies in conformity
  • Assist other QC(Quality Control) Technicians, Operators, Wirers and Assemblers when quality questions arise
  • Perform inspections using measurement tooling (calipers, gauges, meters, etc.)
  • Train other employees
  • Inspect, examine, and observe for product or equipment defects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Your background
  • 2-3 years of experience in LP assembly, wiring
  • Experience using computers Microsoft office apps like excel, word and web applications
  • 1-year experience in quality
  • Ability and willingness to read and interpret technical drawings and models
  • Skilled in using tools, such as a screwdriver, crimper, and air gun
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to climb ladders, stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Work along of as a member of a team
  • Work rapidly for long periods of time
  • Initiative, teamwork, flexibility & attention to detail
  • Desired experience in SAP, supplier net, salesforce, windchill, fletch (waiver/ncm workflows), BOX and SharePoint
  • Ability to work with teams and coordinate activities like rework, collaborate with suppliers and facilitate return of materials (RMA's)
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
  • Ability to document and track data in Microsoft Office Applications
