Job Overview

The Maintenance B Technician is responsible for keeping Viracon's advanced production equipment in top working condition. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding equipment in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Working independently with minimal supervision, Maintenance B Technicians ensure that downtime is minimized and production schedules are met safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, dismantling, cleaning of parts)
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment without direct supervision
  • Maintain inventory and control stock of supplies and replacement parts
  • Apply general fabrication skills including welding (ARC, MIG, TIG), cutting, torch use, and grinding
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
  • Use electrical meters and apply basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting
  • Apply general plumbing skills; design, install, and maintain plumbing projects
  • Assist in machine installation, assembly, and disassembly
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures and perform necessary repairs
  • Support a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Vocational/technical training in a related field plus 8 years of experience, OR 10+ years of experience in maintenance-related work
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fabrication systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Skilled in reading blueprints and following technical diagrams
  • Proficiency in welding and general fabrication

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay: $28.90/hour
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday Night Shift 6 PM-6 AM

Work Environment

  • Based in a large-scale manufacturing facility
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust from production processes
  • Frequent interaction with machinery and moving equipment under strict safety protocols
  • Team-oriented environment with potential overtime, including weekends, based on production needs
