Join us as our Lead Operator in Packaging!

In this role you will set up, monitor, and control the dry processing and packaging for the facility. That includes freeze drying, milling, and packaging quality probiotics. The Packaging Lead Technician is responsible for general sanitation, computer knowledge, SAP Transactions, and maintaining associated documentation.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Displaying and promoting positive safety behaviors by using proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment, and procedures to ensure you and others go home safe each day.

  • Managing employees in the manufacturing of probiotics to ensure safety, quality, and productivity in a hygienic and safe manner, in accordance with all process procedures.

  • Actively participating in shift exchanges and work team meetings.

  • Using automation software on the HMI and Historian effectively.

  • Tearing down, cleaning, and reassembling equipment (e.g., mill, freeze dryer, and packaging line).

  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and responding to deviations in process, product, and equipment.

  • Evaluating manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality.

  • Motivating workers to enhance production quantity while maintaining high production standards.

  • Planning, organizing, and recommending strategies to ensure that products are developed successfully and in accordance with all process specification documents.

  • Developing and recommending improvements to facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Ensuring production and quality targets are met by all production employees.

  • Assisting in the training of new or existing employees.

  • Maintaining a steady and smooth flow of production without unnecessary delays.

  • Assisting in implementing action plans to address observations noted during audits.

  • Setting up and operating machines while adjusting parameters to regulate operations.

  • Controlling all labeling activities to ensure proper storage and inventory levels are maintained.

  • Inventorying and requisitioning parts, equipment, and other supplies to maintain and replenish stock.

  • Performing in-process and post-production reviews of Batch Production Records and other production-related documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with SOPs/SWs, ensuring products are processed, packaged, and stored according to customer, GMP, safety, and internal quality system requirements.

  • Performing in-process reviews at a frequency determined by the Production Supervisor.

To succeed you must hold:

  • An associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in an FDA-regulated or controlled manufacturing environment, preferably in dietary supplements or pharmaceuticals.

  • Knowledge of GMP, inspection guidelines, sanitation practices, dietary supplement and food regulations, and product safety standards.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and general office software.

  • The ability to work within established routines, methods, and procedures under strict management parameters.

  • Strong planning and multitasking skills.

  • A clear understanding of the importance of following work instructions precisely.

  • The ability to motivate team members and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.

  • The ability to work effectively as a team player within a diverse workforce.

Expected pay range: $24.00-$26.50/hour

Shift: 3rdShift / S-Th / 10:00p-6:30am
