DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Assistant Director of Correctional Industries, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Operations Division and coordinate, plan, and execute major industry expansion projects. Your duties will include developing bureau policies related to manufacturing, services operations, and marketing. In this position, you will research and analyze potential new industries, plan and monitor the use of proposed and existing properties, and review plant layouts to ensure efficiency. You can expect to conduct in-site visits and develop training programs for staff and inmates. Additionally, you will assist in developing contracts for raw materials and agreements with contractors. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing or a service-oriented production operation including five years in the management functions of manufacturing or service-oriented production operations; or
- Five years of experience in a manufacturing or service-oriented production operation and a Master's degree with major course work in business administration, vocational education, industrial education, industrial engineering, public administration, or a related area.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be willing to travel to all Pennsylvania Correctional Industries (PCI) shops on a bi-annual basis.
- You will be responsible for annual inventories for all PCI shops.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
