Job Summary

The Transportation Programs Specialist is responsible for promoting sustainable and efficient transportation solutions on campus. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that encourage alternative transportation modes, such as public transit, carpooling, biking, and walking, to reduce single-occupancy vehicle usage and traffic congestion. The role involves managing transportation data collection, overseeing the transit pass program, partnering with regional transit agencies to enhance commuter services, and supporting carpool and micro-mobility programs. Additionally, the position provides operational support for other campus transportation services, parking initiatives, and special projects

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Plan, implement, and evaluate programs promoting alternative transportation modes. Oversee and manage the transit pass program and support the parking team with carpool initiatives. Oversee, monitor and evaluate the performance and usage of campus EV charging stations and micro-mobility services/programs

Job Duty 2 -
Collaborate with Campus Architects, GTPD, and other stakeholders to plan, design, develop, and implement infrastructure supporting campus transit and alternative transit initiatives. Serve as the primary campus liaison to coordinate with MARTA and other regional transit agencies to improve commuter services and integrate campus transportation with regional systems.

Job Duty 3 -
Oversee annual Commuter Survey. Collect and analyze transportation data to identify trends and recommend improvements. Support annual Stinger and Stingerette service analysis to evaluate schedules, routes, and stop/zone efficiency. Assist with route design, schedule development, and report preparation on the performance and usage of alternative transportation programs, micro-mobility initiatives, and EV charging stations.

Job Duty 4 -
Develop and distribute marketing materials to educate the campus community about transportation programs. Conduct presentations as needed, represent the department at events to promote all campus transit services, alternative transportation options and commuter services.

Job Duty 5 -
Support the Transportation Director and other campus stakeholders with developing and implementing strategic short- and long-term transportation plans for the campus. Research transportation grant opportunities, prepare applications, and manage reporting

Job Duty 6 -
Analyze transportation policies and systems to recommend new programs or modifications to existing ones. Ensure compliance with governmental transportation regulations and policies.

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
This position may require international travel.

Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Masters degree in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of federal, state, and regional transportation funding and regulatory policies.
Familiarity with grant writing and reporting processes.
Knowledge of current trends in alternative transportation modes and their relationship with land use and travel demand.
Understanding of transportation management planning, development, and evaluation.

SKILLS
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings effectively.
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant transportation software.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range: $63,303.00 - $86,091.00
