Required Skills / Abilities:
  • High degree of knowledge of DOT, OSHA and Hazmat regulations
  • Familiar with PM based maintenance programs
  • Strong degree of computer literacy
  • Excellent communications skills - requires extensive communication with office staff, drivers and customers.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of driver force at the Glenmont, NY site and any assigned outpost locations (Bozrah, CT; Suffield, CT; Kittery, ME; Marlborough, MA).
  • Handle driver's hours of service in accordance with company policies and Federal/State regulations.
  • Provide real-time after-hours support for all driver and customer activities supporting central team at Logistics Center.
  • Analyze the daily schedule on LB Shell to ensure continuous product supply by handling daily driver availability and coordination with maintenance staff to provide equipment resources necessary.
  • Manage third party contractor support for the daily schedule in times of major logistical challenges as directed by regional management (i.e., major outages, on-site shut downs, etc.).
  • Daily, review location of driver hour availability with Logistics planners to prevent driver fatigue.
  • Daily oversight and analysis of previous days completed trips ensuring driver compliance with routing and customer supply levels meet demand requirements.
  • Assist Terminal Supervisor with potential employee recruitment and screening.
  • Oversight of third-party contract carrier operations and qualification including any investigation of carrier invoices for accuracy/variation in collaboration with Central Logistics - Deliver to Invoice team
  • Perform for all local Distribution employees through regular formal and informal observations such as Delivery and Yard Observations, customer site visits, driver ride-a-longs, plant walk arounds, etc.
  • Assist Terminal Supervisor with local EHS plan including development of safety talk/safety meeting material, monthly site inspections, coordination of Top 10 Customer Site improvement plans and daily walk around near misses.
  • Daily review of driver paperwork, data input and data flow for distribution related systems and processes. Provide real time coaching support to ensure quality pass through of information to the Central Logistics - Deliver to Invoice team.
  • Takes lead with everything related to Samsara including but not limited to training, coaching, and troubleshooting.
  • MAKE SURE DISTRIBUTION TEAM UNDERSTAND THAT SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY! Facilitate PPE and forge a safety driven environment.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the distribution field
  • Commercial driving experience preferred.

  • Office position
  • 8am to 5pm (1 hour lunch)
