How can you make an impact?

As a Senior UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the design of various digital products and services at McGraw Hill. Your responsibilities will include translating high-level requirements into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. You'll collaborate with agile teams, champion design guidelines, and contribute to a culture of creativity. Your goal is to craft beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces that make a meaningful impact on education.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This position is open to 25% travel throughout the year.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop stakeholder requirements into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Practice User-Centered Design concepts and foster a culture of creativity.
  • Collaborate with other designers to maintain a big picture awareness.
  • Utilize and provide feedback for the design system consistently.
  • Design WCAG 2.1 compliant interfaces that are intuitive and usable by a diverse user base.
  • Work efficiently with agile teams to create mockups and specifications for developers.
  • Partner with researchers to conduct user research and iterate designs based on findings.
  • Stay updated on competitor products and industry trends.

You should apply if you have:

  • BA/BFA degree in Design, HCI, CS, or related field, or equivalent qualification in computer sciences/IT.
  • 5+ years of UX design experience, preferably in designing complex solutions for digital environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Self-driven individual with the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Varied experience across digital applications from web to mobile.
  • Fluency in UX design processes, including wireframing, prototyping, and delivering design specifications.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe CC.
  • Adept familiarity with designing in accordance with accessibility best practices and standards.
  • A fundamental understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript can be beneficial.
  • Experience in EdTech is a plus.

The pay range for this position is between $72,000 - $140,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan is provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
