Position Description The Key Account Leader will serve as the strategic lead responsible for driving growth, expanding partnerships, and maximizing the value of QIAGEN's portfolio within a critical account (Quest Diagnostics). This individual will lead cross-functional collaboration across QIAGEN's commercial, medical, and operational teams to deliver customer-centric solutions aligned to both the customer's and QIAGEN's long-term strategies. This role requires a highly visible, hands-on leader with the ability to engage executive stakeholders, influence internal and external decision-makers, and drive results through collaboration and strategic alignment. Key Responsibilities - Strategic Account Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies that deliver growth through deeper alignment, expanded partnerships, and innovative solutions tailored to the customer's evolving needs. - Executive Engagement: Build and sustain trusted relationships at multiple levels within the customer's organization, including executive leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact for key initiatives, partnerships, and escalations. - Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as the "quarterback" for the customer, leading internal alignment across sales teams (molecular diagnostics, QuantiFERON, genomics, etc.), marketing, medical affairs, and operations. Drive accountability and ensure seamless execution. - Growth & Expansion: Identify and capture opportunities to expand QIAGEN's footprint through new placements, menu expansion, and service models that align with the customer's strategic priorities. - In-Person Engagement: Demonstrate commitment to the account through regular on-site meetings, business reviews, and joint field travel with QIAGEN sales teams. Actively engage with the customer's regional and corporate stakeholders to strengthen relationships and drive initiatives forward. - Commercial Excellence: Lead complex negotiations, pricing strategies, and contracting in partnership with QIAGEN's commercial leadership and legal teams. - Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and Quest's strategic direction to proactively adapt QIAGEN's approach and identify areas for growth and differentiation. - Reporting & Forecasting: Provide clear, consistent reporting on performance metrics, pipeline progression, and key initiatives to QIAGEN leadership. Position Requirements - Education: Bachelor's degree in biology, life sciences, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. - Experience: Minimum of 8 years in key account management or enterprise account leadership within diagnostics, life sciences, or healthcare. Demonstrated success managing complex, strategic accounts and driving growth. - Leadership: Proven ability to influence, align, and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority. - Commercial Acumen: Expertise in solution selling, commercial strategy, and negotiating complex agreements within healthcare or diagnostics. - Customer-Centricity: Strong relationship-building skills with a focus on delivering value to large, complex organizations. - Location: East Coast-based (NJ, NY, PA, MA) with willingness and ability to travel regularly for in-person customer engagement and team collaboration. Personal Requirements - Highly collaborative, with the ability to inspire and align diverse stakeholders toward common objectives. - Strong communicator, both internally and externally, with exceptional executive presence. - Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a matrixed organization. - Willing and able to travel to maintain a visible, engaged presence with the customer and QIAGEN teams. The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
