Responsibilities:


- Trailer Spotting:


- Safely maneuver trailers to and from loading docks and designated areas in the yard. - Ensure accurate placement of trailers for efficient loading and unloading.


- Light duty truck/trailer maintenance


- Coordination:


- Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and shipping staff to ensure smooth operations.


- Direct the movement of vehicles in the yard, ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.


- Safety Compliance:


- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while operating equipment and directing traffic.


- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues to management.


- Documentation:


- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, loading/unloading activities, and any incidents.


- General Support:


- Assist in loading and unloading goods as required, using forklifts or other material handling equipment.


- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient shipping and receiving area.


Qualifications:


- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.


- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or a related field preferred.


- Valid driver's license.


Preferred Skills:


- Effective communication and people skills.


- Ability to work in a demanding environment and handle multiple tasks.


Work Environment:




  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, regularly exposed to noise levels in the work environment which are moderate to loud, and exposed to temperature ranging from moderate to high depending on the time of year and location of the work being done.
