POSITION SUMMARY:

The Barista provides friendly, efficient service to all customers while preparing quality beverages and food items in accordance with Starbucks standards. This role ensures a clean, welcoming store environment and upholds health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Baristas model Starbucks' values and contribute to a positive team culture and customer experience.

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resort's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resort's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Hourly pay range: $18-$20

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner while taking accurate orders.
  • Prepare and serve handcrafted beverages and food items consistently according to Starbucks recipes and presentation standards.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including bar and customer-facing spaces.
  • Restock ingredients, supplies, and products as needed throughout the shift.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Stay calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Arrive on time and maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Support teammates by assisting in various roles during peak hours and shift changes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Starbucks values, mission, and product offerings.
  • Problem solve and adapt to changing priorities or customer needs.
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum one year experience in customer service is preferred
  • Barista experience is preferred
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • May be required to work evenings, holidays and weekends
  • Must have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employment


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • May be a current High School student


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Handle food and beverage equipment
  • Lift and carry up to 50lbs. on a frequent basis (cases of food, soda, trash, etc.)
  • Stand for longer periods of time


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.
  • Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
