SUMMARY
A full range of information technology (IT) support services is necessary to satisfy enterprise missions, goals and objectives in the areas of IT Services, Enterprise Design/Integration/Consolidation, IT Education/Training, IT Program/Project Management, Systems Operations and Maintenance, Network Support, and embedded Information Systems Security, Cyber Security and Information Assurance to the Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO AVN) Information Technology Support Services.
Responsible for the Configuration Management (CfM) of developmental and operational systems on the PEO Aviation network. Works on and with development and operational teams to create and maintain CM baselines (dev, test, prod) supporting developmental and operational users. Uses or recommends automated CfM tools to implement CfM policies and procedures. Develops or modifies CfM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the system. Implements CfM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Perform change control, configuration audits and provide reporting when required
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervise direct reports responsible for the configuration of end-user system baselines and documentation library.
* Responsible for effectively tracking, logging, categorizing, and maintaining changes made against the accepted Army baseline(s) standards.
* Develop, distribute, and track all change packages resulting from approved Configuration Control Board action.
* Provide configuration management services for system administration support activities that utilize the automated CM tools provided by the Government.
* Perform activities for configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
* Utilize automated tools provided by the Government to maintain hardware information that addresses the manufacturer, type, model, machine name, product description, version, IP Address, MAC, location, operating system, and status.
* Utilize automated tools provided by the Government to maintain software information that addresses the software product name, version, type, licensing, and RMF status.
* Support PEO Aviation with life-cycle management and capital equipment replenishment plans.
* Research and analysis of new and emerging technologies for systems, hardware and software configurations, and an assessment of their benefits and impact on the current infrastructure and EA.
* Technical planning for the insertion of these new technologies into the current functional and technical architectures.
* Responsible for Service Delivery and Service Management to include oversight and management of Hardware Asset Manager, Software Asset Manager, Change Management, Demand Management, and Documentation Analysts.
* Act as a senior technical advisor to government stakeholders, shaping technical roadmaps and ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
* Engage with Senior Government leadership to strengthen partnership and collaboration ensuring overall exceptional program performance and delivery of innovative solutions that align with the organization's strategic initiatives.
* Aggressively leverage the local team and headquarters resources to expand team capabilities, introduce innovation and drive customer success.
* Contribute to management volumes and technical solutioning for proposals, white papers, prototypes, and Agile Lab efforts.
* Possess an actively mature and technical understanding of emerging technology, platforms, software and ideas to advance team efficiency and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with Business Development, Capture, and sector leadership to support growth initiatives

Education, Background, and Years of Experience
* BA or AA with 7 years of experience
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills
* Experienced with ITIL Best Practices
* Experience managing a team in a matrix organization with a portfolio of several projects
* Experience mentoring on tools and techniques of Configuration Management and coaching direct reports.
* Experience with system analysis and design or infrastructure design, deployment, and support.

Environmental Conditions
* The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is typically performed in an office environment with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands
* Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
