We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Global Compensation & Payroll to join our Total Rewards & Diversity team at Fossil Group. This leadership role, based in our beautiful Dallas location, will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing global compensation and equity programs that reinforce a high-performance culture, align with our business strategy, and drive employee engagement.

In addition to compensation, this role will lead our global payroll operations and retirement program strategy, ensuring compliant and efficient processes that support our diverse workforce across multiple regions. As a trusted advisor to leadership, you will ensure our compensation and retirement programs are competitive, equitable, and globally compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Global Compensation Strategy:
    Design and manage compensation programs including base pay, bonuses, long-term incentives, and executive compensation to drive equity and competitiveness.

  • Oversee Payroll & Retirement Operations:
    Lead payroll execution across regions ensuring accuracy, compliance, and system integration. Manage retirement programs (e.g., 401(k), RRSP, pensions) aligned with financial wellness goals.

  • Drive Annual Planning:
    Lead merit, bonus, and equity planning cycles tied to performance and budgets.

  • Ensure Market & Internal Equity:
    Conduct market benchmarking and maintain fair, competitive pay practices globally.

  • Support M&A & Change:
    Lead compensation strategy during mergers, acquisitions, and organizational transitions.

  • Build & Develop High-Performing Teams:
    Lead and grow a global team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Partner Across the Business:
    Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and senior leadership to deliver strategic solutions.

  • Leverage Data & Insights:
    Use workforce data to guide decisions and align compensation strategies with talent needs.

Your Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, including 5+ years in a global or multi-regional leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in global compensation strategy, design, and governance, including executive and equity programs.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, global compliance, and integration with compensation programs.
  • Experience with retirement and savings programs in multiple countries.
  • Familiarity with labor law, payroll tax, social security, and data privacy compliance across key regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC).
  • Proven leadership in annual compensation planning cycles, benchmarking, and salary structure design.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, HR, Finance, and Legal.
  • Highly analytical mindset with proficiency in modeling, scenario planning, and data storytelling.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred), and compensation management tools (e.g., WTW, Korn Ferry, Mercer, MarketPay, etc.).
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
