Position Summary

The Political Science program at Allan Hancock College is seeking applications to develop a qualified pool of part-time faculty for in-person instructional vacancies. The position is primarily intended to serve students at the Lompoc Federal Correctional Institution but may be offered assignments at other locations, as needed. Assignments may be for spring, summer, or fall, and may be day or evening hours. The courses most likely to be assigned to this position are POLS 101: Introduction to Political Science and POLS C1000: American Government and Politics. Please note that this is not a remote position. Essential Functions and Qualifications

- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, or weekend classes.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in political science, government, or international relations OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, and any ethnic studies, Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.) OR the equivalent
